Paula - Speech
Recently New Zealand voted on smoking weed. Did you know it was so close, but the law did not go through. My topic is why we should not smoke pot. This is important because you can damage your brain. In my speech I am going to talk about our brain cells and lungs .
what happens in the brain when we smoke weed? You get a variety of symptoms including anxiety, depression and restlessness when you smoke weed and it also affects the lungs. When you smoke weed is an irritant to the throat and lungs and can cause a heavy cough during use and the people who smoke they may be inhaling water, adding moisture to the lungs that can worsen side effects.
Why should you not smoke weed?
Because when you quit smoking you can lengthen your life expectancy and decrease your risk of disease (including lung cancer, throat cancer, heart disease, kidney disease ,and high blood pressure).
Weed is used as a medicine for some illnesses. What are the illnesses? Cannabinoid products have been used for a variety of medical conditions including depressive, post-traumatic stress disorder, and glaucoma.
Undoubtedly smoking weed affects your brain and your lungs so it's important to know all the dangers of smoking and it’s also used in useful things like medication but under the supervision of the doctor.
